Men’s Olympic Hockey Preview & Channel Guide: Medal Rounds

February 21st, 2014

oshie usa hockey 2014 sochi olympicsThough The Atlantic assures us this isn’t the case, USA/Canada will renew their rival Friday morning at 11:30AM Eastern Time, with the winner heading to the Gold Medal game on Sunday and coast-to-coast TV on NBC (all other hockey games have been on NBC’s Sports Network). Canada is the defending gold medalists, and have won two of the last three. And, of course, they probably sport the best player in the world right now in Sydney “The Kid” Crosby. But, Team USA has been on a tear, lately, and Canada hasn’t exactly been scoring much. If the US was goin to be Canada in hockey away from American soil, this is the time.

The winner of USA/Canada will meet the undefeated and always dangerous Sweden. Like Canada, the Swedes have won a two gold medals in the last five Olympics, including their famous Shootout win over Canada in 1994. No matter what happens Friday, this is looking to be a star-studded affair with plenty of hockey royalty. Schedule and TV Guide for Dish Network below:
